Tim Moore Septet – Overall A Good Feeling

Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.

Paul Bley – Opus 1
Paul Bley – Spontaneous Combustion

All right now, that’s Paul Bley playing “Spontaneous Combustion” and before that “Opus 1”. Kicking us off tonight we heard the Tim Moore Septet play “Overall A Good Feeling”. Tim Moore studied jazz at ASU where he recorded the Caprice CD before he transferred to North Texas State where he is playing with the Tim Moore Septet and Moore’s Code.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at http://kasu.org.

Thelonious Monk – Four In One

Now that’s what I’m talking about. That was Thelonius Monk with “Four In One” and “Mysterioso”. Before that we heard Brad Mehldau play “Cheryl” from his new CD “Blues and Ballads”. There’s more than a bit of Monk in the way he plays “Cheryl”.
