Something Blue – El Bujo

Welcome to Something Blue. Tonight we are featuring El Bujo recorded live at KASU Jazz Thursday on June 27, 2013. That was “Lindseyville”. TheArtsAt311 was hopping and bopping to the funky fusion sounds of El Bujo.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue and when Gary told us he was bringing El Bujo to Jazz Thursday I was very excited to get to hear this legendary festival act.
The songs I selected for the show were all written by Gary Gazaway. He wanted me to tell you that this band did not rehearse this material. That will give you some idea of the caliber of the musicians in El Bujo.
Right now here’s “Wham Bam Boodle”.

Now that’s what I’m talking about. The smooth trumpet of Gary Gazaway icing the El Bujo cake. That was “Leviathan” and before that we heard “The Phoenicians”.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue and you can friend me or message me on Facebook or on the Delta Boogie Network at deltaboogie.net. I’ve got one more from El Bujo at this great Jazz Thursday show. Here’s “Fertile Crescent”.
