Whitley Newman, Auf Wiedersehen
Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.
Jazz Recital Band, Blue Goose
Blazing Mallets, Elphonium
All right now, that’s Blazing Mallets playing “Elphonium”, a song with a story about the song. Before that the Jazz Recital Band played Whitley Newman’s song “Auf Wiedersehen” and my song “Blue Goose”. The whole show tonight was recorded in the ASU bandroom on November 30, 2018.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue, and part of my continuing education includes playing in small groups at recitals. Coming up next we’ll hear the Jazz Recital Band play “Jerome”. Then the 11:00 Small Group will play “Joy Spring” and “Little Boat”.

Closing the show we’ll hear the 11:00 Small Group play “Jordu” and then Four Horns will play a song I wrote, “Marx Brothers Suite”. Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, blues is the mainstream.
