Agents of Good Roots, Straight
Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.

Agents of Good Roots, You’ll Come Running
Now that’s what I’m talking about, Agents Of Good Roots singing “You’ll Come Running”. Kicking us off tonight they did “Straight”. We also heard the Nephrok All-Stars with “Driving Wheel”.
The Nephrok Allstars were recorded live at the Brass Union in Somerville, Massachusetts, on April 6, 2019. They bring a contemporary sound to blues standards.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

There’s no music like live music which is why I feature live concerts on Something Blue. KASU supports live music by promoting musicians playing in Northeast Arkansas on Arkansas Roots and by sponsoring live music concerts. Visit kasu.org to check for what’s coming up next or search for Arkansas Roots on Facebook. For more about Delta music and musicians visit my website, Delta Boogie, at deltaboogie.com.
Electric blues has always been performed with horns and keyboards as well as electric guitar and bass. There is a new blues sound that goes a step further adding jazz, funk, and R&B sounds to the blues. The bands I’m featuring tonight are all playing the new blues today. The blues is a living art form, always changing.
The Agents of Good Roots were recorded live at The Vanguard Brewpub and Distillery in Hampton, Virginia, on March 30, 2019. Here they are now with “Sidewinder”. Then we’ll hear the Nephrok All-Stars sing “I’d Rather Be Blind, Crippled, And Crazy”.

All right now, that’s the Nephrok All-Stars doing “I Love You More Than You’ll Ever Know”. Before that we heard Jessica Jones sing “Redbone”.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Thanks to the Live Music Archive at archive.org for hosting the concerts we’re hearing tonight.
The Jessica Jones Project was recorded live at Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox in Denver, Colorado, on April 4, 2019. Here they are now with “Cold Sweat” and “Home By Dawn”. Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, blues is the mainstream.
