Niels Ryde Group, Ups and Downs
Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.
Brad Mehldau, Bodi
Now that’s what I’m talking about, Brad Mehldau playing “Bodi”, a fine blues. And kicking us off tonight we heard the Niels Ryde Group do “Ups and Downs” from their album, “Everything I Love”.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com to listen anytime and for clickable links to more music from the featured musicians.
Steve Lawson is an electric bass virtuoso who often releases albums where bass is the only instrument. Lawson says the tracks on his album, “The Arctic Is Burning” were “Improvised live in single unedited takes at LawSound Studios (AKA the corner of the bedroom) July 2019.” Then we’ll hear Brad Mehldau do “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most”.
