Now that’s what I’m talking about. That’s Dumpstaphunk singing “Where Do We Go From Here?”. Before that we heard the LowDown Brass Band do “Since You Been Gone” and “Bourbon Street” from their new album, “LowDown Nights”. They’re a Chicago group that blends hiphop with vocals harmony and New Orleans brass.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com to listen anytime and for links to more music by the featured musicians.

OK, now, here’s the LowDown Brass Band singing their new single, “We Dem Boys”. Then we’ll hear the Dirty Dozen Brass Band recorded live at Westville Music Bowl in New Haven, Connecticut, on August 13, 2022 playing “Use Your Brain”.

There’s no music like live music and the next best thing is concerts recorded live. Go to kasu.org and deltaboogie.com for more information about upcoming concerts whether it’s Blues Fest at the Craighead Forest Bandshell or Monster Grooves in Newport or Bluegrass Monday in Paragould. Follow my adventures Guerilla Livestreaming Scenic Northeast Arkansas at deltaboogie.net. Listen to Arkansas Roots on KASU to find out who’s playing where. And then go out to hear your friends playing music. And don’t forget all the great concerts at ASU played by students, faculty, and guests. Go to astate.edu and search on Monday Morning Music Memo to find out what’s happening this week. Find out what’s happening at the Fowler Center at fowler.astate.edu. If you are a regular listener to From The Archives of Something Blue you know that the Delta Jazz Workshop presents live jazz five nights in a row every July.

Closing the show here’s the Dirty Dozen Brass Band doing “Go to the Mardi Gras” and “Do It Fluid”.
