Steps Ahead, Oops

Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.

Jazz Alliance, Blues In A Hurry

Now that’s what I’m talking about. From the Jazz Alliance album, “Partly Cloudy”, that’s “Blues In A Hurry”. This fine album was recorded right here in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and all the songs were written by Ron Horton who was the director of jazz studies at KASU.

Kicking us off tonight we heard Steps Ahead play “Oops” from their album “Live In Tokyo 1986”.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com to listen anytime and for links to all the albums we’re hearing tonight.

Ok now, coming up next here’s Steps Ahead playing “Self Portrait” followed by the Dave Holland Quintet doing “Free For All”.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. For more contemporary jazz composers visit my website jazzcomposers.net.
