Turkuaz, Docktor Jazz

Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.

Hambone Relay, Cold Duck Time

All right now, that’s Hambone Relay with “Cold Duck Time” recorded live at Time in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 1, 2018. Kicking us off tonight we heard Turkuaz sing “Docktor Jazz”. Fantastic music tonight from bands that mix blues, rock, funk, and jazz.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com to listen anytime and for links to more music by the featured acts.

Turkuaz was recorded live at the Picklebarrel Night Club in Killington, Vermont, on February 1, 2018. They are an amazing act with nine musicians on stage including two keybord players, three vocalists, and a horn section. Here they are now singing “Winner” followed by the Brian Thomas/Alex Lee-Clark Big Band playing “Keep At It”.

Hambone Relay, Free Hugs

Now that’s what I’m talking about, Hambone Relay with “Jan Jan” and “Free Hugs”. Before that we heard Turkuaz doing “Percy Thrills (The Moondog)”.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Thanks to the Live Music Archive at archive.org for hosting the concerts we’re hearing tonight.

The Brian Thomas/Alex Lee-Clark Big Band was recorded live at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on January 18, 2018. Closing the show here they are now playing “Crawlin”. Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, blues is the mainstream.
