Lee Konitz with the Kenny Wheeler Quartet, Kary´s Trance (Live at Birdland Neuburg)
Lee Konitz with the Kenny Wheeler Quartet, Lennie´s (Live at Birdland Neuburg)
Now that’s what I’m talking about. Recorded live at Birdland in Neuburg we heard Lee Konitz with the Kenny Wheeler Quartet play “Kary’s Trance” and “Lennie’s”. I love the alto sax and trumpet blend. Kenny Wheeler died in 2014. Their CD, “Olden Times”, recorded in 1999, was re-released in 2016.

Closing the show we’ve got music from the Sean Jones Quartet. His website says, “Music and spirituality have always been fully intertwined in the artistic vision of trumpeter, composer, educator and activist Sean Jones.” Listen to his trumpet work now as he plays “Don’t Fall Off The L.E.J.” and “New Journey”.
