Common Time, Softly As In A Morning Sunrise
Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got music from the Delta Jazz Workshop, for you.
Copyright Infringement, Nostalgia In Times Square
Copyright Infringement, Stella By Starlight
All right now, that was Copyright Infringement playing “Nostalgia In Time Square” and “Stella By Starlight” at the Delta Jazz Workshop on July 13, 2018. Copyright Infringement was one of the student small groups at the workshop, over half of the musicians in the band were high school students.
Kicking us off tonight we heard Common Time play “Softly As In A Morning Sunrise”. Common Time was recorded on July 10, 2018.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. The Delta Jazz Workshop teaches jazz to area students every summer. It could be called the Delta Jazz Workshop and Festival because there are jazz concerts every night. I recorded all five nights for Something Blue so this is just some of the great music we heard.
The Jazz Writer’s Big Band played on July 9, 2018. This next song features Lisa Ahia singing “That’s All”. Then we’ll hear Common Time play “Sandu”.

Now that’s what I’m talking about, two songs from the Jazz Writer’s Big Band. Tom O’Conner wrote “The Blues Done Found Us Again” and Joseph Curtis wrote “Downpour”.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

Bebop Beatniks were recorded on July 11, 2018. Here I am, singing “Georgia”, with guest beatnik, Jay Shepherd, on guitar. Closing the show we’ll play a song I wrote called “In The Zone”. We were having a blast at the Delta Jazz Workshop.
