From The Archive September 15 2021 – Delta Legends – “She’s Gone”

Thanks Marty, today we’re going to hear Delta Legends busking at the Fall Ball.

On September 30, 2017, John Shepherd, Jeremy Burnett, and I took a short ride over to the Fall Ball, outside of Olive Branch, Mississippi. We had been playing in downtown Jonesboro and at the Craighead Forest Bandshell and we were about to graduate to the festival stage.

We arrived in the morning and set up to do some busking near the food court. We played from 10:00 to noon interacting with the audience, as buskers do, and I recorded the set. Three of my originals that we played that morning ended up on our “Two Woman Blues” album.

Later that day we hit the main stage running and played a sizzling one hour set. I also recorded that and both shows are available on the Live Music Archive. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com for links.

It was great to hook up behend a big PA with a sound guy making us sound good but we sounded pretty good busking too and truth be told, it was a lot more fun.

John Shepherd and Jeremy Burnett are from Wynne, Arkansas, and you all know me. Here we are now, Delta Legends, doing a funny song that I wrote called, “She’s Gone”.
