Jimi Hendrix Experience, Dolly Dagger
Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.
Neal Francis, Changes
All right now, that’s Neal Francis bringing the new blues to Chicago playing “Changes”. Neal Francis was recorded live at Framily Fest in Benton, Illinois, on September 5, 2020.
Kicking us off tonight the Jimi Hendrix Experience played “Dolly Dagger”.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.
I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com to listen anytime and for links to more music from the featured musicians. New on the Something Blue website are the From The Archives Of Something Blue podcasts aired on Arkansas Roots.
There’s no music like live music and the next best thing is recordings of live concerts. We’re all live tonight starting with Jimi Hendrix “Live In Maui” just released at the end of 2020. This is a fantastic performance with Hendrix, Billy Cox, and Mitch Mitchell delivering the goods to an appreciative audience. This concert was part of the Rainbow Bridge documentary and as well as releasing this 2 CD set Sony also released a DVD with concert footage. Coming up now here they are playing “Villanova Junction” and “Hear My Train A-Comin”.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Thanks to the Live Music Archive at archive.org for hosting some of the concerts we’re hearing tonight.
Now, closing the show here’s Delta Legends doing “Road Song” and Neal Francis singing “Put It In His Hands”. Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, blues is the mainstream.
