Art Porter – A Portrait Of Art

Art Porter, We’ll Be Together Again

Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.

Keith Jarrett, Billie’s Bounce

Now that’s what I’m talking about. From his Tokyo ’96 album that’s Keith Jarrett playing “Billie’s Bounce”. Kicking us off tonight we heard Art Porter play “We’ll Be Together Again”.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Visit the Something Blue website at sbblues.com to listen anytime and for links to more music from the featured musicians.

Ok now, here’s Bill Evans playing “Waltz for Debbie” and “My Romance”.

Keith Jarrett, John’s Abbey
Art Porter, Someone To Watch Over Me
Art Porter, I Thought About You

All right now, that’s Art Porter playing “Someone To Watch Over Me” and “I Thought About You” from his album “A Portrait Of Art”. Art Porter was a fantastic Jazz Pianist from Little Rock, Arkansas. He was also an educator and a choir leader. He had two shows on AETN, The Minor Key and Porterhouse Cuts, which featured his jazz trio, that aired in thirteen states. Art Porter was a true Arkansas Treasure and I’m on a treasure hunt for more of his recordings. If you have any contact KASU.

Before that we heard Keith Jarrett play “John’s Abbey”.
