John Good and Friends, Days Like This
Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.
Spafford, Virtual Bean Dip
John Good and Friends, Lousiana 1927
Now that’s what I’m talking about, John Good and Friends playing the Randy Newman song, “Louisiana, 1927”. Kicking us off tonight they sang “Days Like This”. Sandwiched in between there we heard Spafford play “Virtual Bean Dip”.
Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

I met John Good in the mid nineties when he would jam with The Flying Hungarians. His stagename was Duke and he played at Blues Fest listed as Duke. Then 30 years later I get an email from Little Rock and he’s got more music for Something Blue. I remember him playing this next one, “Domino”, a hit by Van Morrison. Then we’ll hear the Eric Krasno Trio do “Big Brother”, a Stevie Wonder song.

All right now that’s Spafford playing “Ice Cream” and the Eddie Harris song “Sham Time”. Spafford was recorded live at the Brooklyn Arts Center in Wilmington, North Carolina, on April 16, 2025.

I’m Hairy Larry, host of Something Blue. Thanks to John Good for sending music from Little Rock. There’s more where that’s coming from including recordings from the seventies.
The Eric Krasno Trio was recorded live at The Mint in Los Angeles on April 16, 2025. Here they are now playing the Allman Brothers song, In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed.
