DJ Hairy Larry Presents John Shepherd Playing Too Rolling Stoned
From The Archives Of Something Blue – 2025-10-26
Thanks Marty, today we’re going to hear some great blues guitar recorded live at Blues Fest.
On September 16, 2007, John Shepherd brought his band, Idle Americans, to Blues Fest for another stunning performance. I was taping Blues Fest for Something Blue and I was fortunate to get excellent recordings.
John Shepherd is from Wynne, Arkansas, and he is a blues guitar virtuoso with a distinctive blues sound and his own unique style. The band, Idle Americans, has gone under many names but the musicians are also from Wynne.
Playing at Blues Fest in 2007 we heard
John Shepherd – guitar and vocals
Robert Fronabarger – guitar
Jeremy Burnett – harmonica and vocals
Barry Eppes – bass
and
Mike Riley – drums
And they delivered a great show of both blues and blues-rock. I picked a Robin Trower song to play today, “Too Rolling Stoned”.
So, here we go. Here’s John Shepherd and Idle Americans playing “Too Rolling Stoned” from their performance at Blues Fest 2007.
