Thanks Marty, today we’re going to hear an original composition played at a KASU Fundraiser.

Dylan Nelson approached me about playing at a fundraiser for KASU as a part of a Fundraiser Friday. Of course, I’m all in for KASU and I am completely aware of their need for additional funds raised through local donations. I told him I could play but I would check and see what I could do band wise.

I approached Jazz Buskers and #jazz #blues #fusion and both bands wanted to play. Dylan came up with the March 20 date and fortunately both bands were 90 percent good. I did get Jay Shepherd to sub in on bass with Jazz Buskers and guitar with #jazz #blues #fusion. So a big shout out to Jay for his part in making the night a success.

The order of the acts was obvious. Acoustic jazz standards first and then closing with electric guitars playing blues fusion. #jazz #blues #fusion played all original songs and today we’re going to hear a James Carvell song, “They Say”.

I met James when his band, “Striding The Blast”, would play at Blues Fest, In The Loft At The Edge, and at Brookland Methodist. He played with NJHB for a while playing lead guitar through his talk box on “Monkey Walk”. I’ll leave a link to that performance at sbblues.com.

You’ll have to wait until Saturday night at 10:00 to hear the new version we recorded at the fundraiser. It was the longest song we played that night.

I also have to thank The Rec Room and Brian Nobles for providing our venue. We packed it out and both bands responded well to an enthusiastic audience.
