Josh Parks, Land Of Nod

Welcome to Something Blue. I’m Hairy Larry and I’ve got the blues, for you.

Ramon Taranco, The New York Shuffle
Ramon Taranco, Take Her Dancing

That’s just great. We heard “The New York Shuffle” and “Take Her Dancing” from Ramon Taranco’s new album, “Cuban Blues Man”. I love the Cuban percussion under the blues. And kicking us off tonight we heard “Land Of Nod” from The Josh Parks Band.

Something Blue is broadcast on KASU, 91.9 FM and streaming on the internet at kasu.org.

Have you heard the scandal about Georgia Tann stealing and selling babies in Memphis last century? Matt Lucas was a Georgia Tann baby. Fortunately he was adopted into a loving home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. In this next song, “Dear Mama And Papa”, he has some questions for his biological parents.

“Dear Mama And Papa” was recorded at HairyLarryLand with Delta Legends as Matt’s backing band. Then we will play the title track from Delta Legends new album, “Two Woman Blues”.

Delta Legends, These Blues
Ramon Taranco, Love Survives

Now that’s what I’m talking about. Delta Legends played the John Shepherd song, “These Blues” and then Ramon Taranco did “Love Survivors”.

Josh Parks played in Newport, Arkansas, twice last summer and then I was fortunate to get to play with him at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Helena, Arkansas. He gave me his new album called “The Josh Parks Band”. Here’s “Part-Time Love” and “When My Blood Runs Cold” from that CD. Then closing the show Delta Legends will play another John Shepherd song, Humboogie”. Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, blues is the mainstream.
